Grand Canyon men's soccer freshman forward
Junior Diouf has captivated the college soccer scene with his dazzling goals and clutch game-winning moments, and the Senegal native's name is now on the watch list for college soccer's most prestigious yearly award.

Diouf has been named to the Missouri Athletic Club (MAC) Hermann Trophy Watch List, which is presented annually as the highest individual honor, recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by voting of Division I head coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.
The first-year Lope ranks among the best in the nation in multiple categories – second in goals (11) and goals per game (1.1), fourth in points (25) and shots on goal per game (2.0) and is tied for the nation's lead in game-winning goals with four.
With five regular-season games to go, Diouf is also on program record watch. He enters Sunday's game at California Baptist tied for third with Niki Jackson for most goals in a GCU season for the program's Division I era. He also is tied with Jackson for fourth in single-season points.
Diouf is one of 31 players to be named to the watch list and joins Virginia's Nicholas Simmonds as the only freshmen on the list, which was compiled by a committee.
Fifteen players will be named Hermann Trophy semifinalists on Dec. 9 at the conclusion of NCAA Division I All-American voting. From that list, head coaches will cast votes, and three players will be named finalists. The 2025 recipient will be announced on Jan. 9, 2026, in a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in downtown St. Louis, Mo.
