Nutornutsi named to Preseason All-WAC Team

Junior forward became 1 of WAC's top forwards with 9 goals last season
Grand Canyon junior forward Bright Nutornutsi was named to the Preseason All-WAC team after leading the Lopes in scoring last season.
Nutornutsi is coming off a 22-point season in which he scored a team-high nine goals and ranked second on GCU in assists with four. The Ghana native recorded a shot-on-goal percentage of .571, also a team high, as he was named to the All-WAC first team. In 2022, Nutornutsi received All-WAC Freshman honors.
The Lopes finished sixth in the WAC preseason coaches' poll, which is voted by the conference's head coaches. GCU garnered 45 points, two behind fifth-place UNLV and nine points above seventh-place Utah Valley. Seattle U claimed the No. 1 spot, totaling six first-place votes in the 10-team conference.
GCU preps for its final tune-up of the preseason Saturday evening at home vs. Yavapai College before beginning the regular season at home on Thursday against Western Illinois. Saturday's contest against Yavapai College has free admission for fans.
