The Grand Canyon men's soccer team added another all-conference player in Iann Topete for the 2024 season.
Topete comes to Phoenix via Chicago State, where he spent the 2023 season earning a spot on the All-Ohio Valley first team. The forward was among the league leaders in multiple offensive categories, including points (17), goals (eight) and goals per game (.42).
Prior to his time at Chicago State, Topete was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association All-America second team when he played for Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona. During his sophomore campaign in 2022, the San Luis, Arizona, native led the team in goals (13), assists (eight) and points (34). He also received all-conference and all-region first-team honors in 2021 and 2022 with Yavapai.
Topete graduated from San Luis High School, where he shined as one of the best players in Arizona as a senior, scoring a school-record 21 goals and earning honors on the first team for all-region and all-conference.
The list continues to grow for the Lopes, who have added eight players this offseason for the 2024 campaign.
