Grand Canyon added depth to its midfield with the signing of Phoenix College transfer Martin Luala.
Luala spent the past two seasons with the Bears, recording 14 points with three goals and eight assists while notching an impressive .699 shot-on-goal percentage. Luala started in 19 of 20 games for a team that went 17-4-1 and earned the No. 4 seed in the National Junior College Athletic Assocation national tournament.
A Phoenix native, Luala earned Division II all-region first-team honors with the Bears this season, logging 38 shots, 30 shots on goal, two goals and seven assists. He is a graduate of nearby Washington High School.
Luala received a top honor in United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division II Men's All-America Team, as announced by the organization Dec. 10.
Luala is GCU's sixth signee this November, joining Gavin Atkinson, Jack Kiefer, Max Kiefer, Toto Salama and Charles-Etienne Volcy as newcomers for the 2025 squad.
