Grand Canyon men's golf freshman
Matthew Diehl was honored by the American Junior Golf Association and on its annual All-America list, naming Diehl one of the Rolex Junior All-American honorable mentions.

The Rolex Junior All-America teams annually recognize the world's premier junior golfers. This year's class includes 48 boys and 48 girls, ages 13-19 from 19 states and three countries.
"We are very proud of Matthew and his accomplishment," GCU head coach
Mark Mueller said. "He had an unbelievable summer, and it led into a great fall season in his first year at GCU. I am very happy for him and his achievement."
From Redlands, California, Diehl has been phenomenal in his first collegiate campaign, placing in the top 15 in each of his four fall tournaments. He carded a 3-under-par score in his first college outing at the Southern Dunes Invitational to tie for 12th and followed that up with a 1-under score in New Mexico that earned him his first top-10 showing.
Over the summer, Diehl competed in the USGA Junior Amateur Championship, advancing to the quarterfinal round of a 64-player field. He also tied for third at the IMG Academy Junior World Championships with a 1-under score at Torrey Pines Golf Course.
Diehl helped lead the Lopes to three top-five team finishes in the fall and is part of a young starting five with three underclassmen.
GCU returns to action in mid-February, competing in the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawaii. The Lopes have won back-to-back WAC Championship titles and are aiming for a three-peat at Chaparral Pines Golf Course in Payson, Arizona, on April 25-27.
