Two Grand Canyon men's soccer players earned All-WAC postseason awards as sophomore forward
Bright Nutornutsi earned first-team conference accolades while midfielder
Jorge Lopez was named to the WAC All-Freshman Team.

Nutornutsi was one of the top offensive players in the country, ranking 35th in goals (nine) and points (22), ranking second in the WAC for each category. He led the conference and was 18th in the country in shot accuracy (.571).
GCU thrived off Nutornutsi's ability to score, going 6-1-1 when he scored a goal. The Accra, Ghana, native tallied a point in 10 of the team's 17 games, with four assists, 35 shots and 20 shots on goal. Two of his nine goals were game-winners and were instrumental in marquee nonconference victories with a goal at Creighton and two goals at home versus UC Santa Barbara. He also tallied an assist in GCU's upset over No. 22 San Diego and its tie at No. 2 SMU.
The conference postseason award was Nutornutsi's second of his career, as he was named to the WAC All-Freshman Team last season.

Lopez completed his first collegiate season in second on the team for points (11), totaling four goals and three assists. Lopez scored his first collegiate goal at home versus UC Santa Barbara and recorded a streak of three straight games with a goal, including one versus San Diego and two versus Houston Christian.
Three of Lopez's four goals were game-winners, ranking 35th in the nation and first in the WAC in that category. He ranked eighth in the conference for shots (30) and tied for 10th in points.
GCU has garnered seven WAC postseason accolades in the past two seasons combined. It finished the season 7-7-3 overall and went 1-1-2 against teams ranked in the United Soccer Coaches top 25.
