The Grand Canyon men's soccer team received five All-WAC postseason honors, including Offensive Player of the Year going to senior forward
Shaun Joash.
Joash also earned a spot on the All-WAC first team for the second consecutive season. Sophomore midfielder
Innocent Jibril Rodet was named to the All-WAC second team, while the duo of
Erick Monge and
Bright Nutornutsi were named to the All-Freshman Team.
The WAC Player of the Year award is the second straight honoree for the Lopes after
Esai Easley won WAC Defensive Player of the Year last season.

Joash, from Hampton Hill, England, ranks among the best in the nation at his position and on the offensive side of the ball. Heading into the WAC Tournament, he ranks third in points per game (1.87), sixth in points (28), seventh in goals per game (0.73), ninth in goals (11) and second in shot accuracy (.645). Joash also ended the regular season second in the conference for assists (6) and assists per game (0.4).
Joash has tallied 20 shots on goal and two game-winning goals in 15 appearances so far this season. His play elevated during conference action, totaling eight goals, three assists and 19 points. He recorded a point in each of his last six games and scored six goals in his last four games.

Rodet, a transfer from Oregon State who is in his first season with the Lopes, is tied for fifth on the team in points with five. He scored two goals, both coming in his last five games, and added an assist while making 14 starts and one appearance off the bench.
The redshirt sophomore, who was born in Cameroon and grew up in France, helped the Lopes to two conference victories in October with a pair of goals on free kicks against Utah Valley and at Houston Christian. Rodet's tiebreaking goal against the Wolverines proved to be the game-winner in a 2-1 victory.

Monge, a first-year player from Houston, has stepped up on the defensive back line for the Lopes since the beginning of conference action. He made his season debut at Utah Tech on Sept. 30 and registered an assist during 763 minutes played, the fourth most among Lopes field players in WAC games.
The freshman, who trained in the Houston Dynamo system, helped GCU to a 4-1-2 record and two shutout victories in October. Monge made his first appearance of the season on Sept. 30 and then cracked the starting lineup for the final eight regular-season matches.

Nutornutsi made an immediate impact for the Lopes early, scoring a goal vs. Oakland in a 2-1 home victory and recording four assists in 12 games, including five starts.
The freshman forward from Accra, Ghana, tallied all four assists in WAC play with three coming consecutively against UT Rio Grande Valley, Seattle U and San Jose State. He recently had a career-high five shots and three shots on goal at home vs. Air Force.
GCU begins the WAC Tournament with a Friday first-round game against Seattle U in Riverside, California. Kickoff is at 5 p.m. (Phoenix time) with live coverage on ESPN+.
