The Grand Canyon men's golf team added Zac Owens for the 2021-22 season after he was a top Shockers player last season.
"We are excited to add Zac to the team next year," GCU assistant coach
Clayton Sikorski said. "He brings leadership and experience to our young roster. Zac is a very talented player and will fit in great with the group of players we have."
The Woodward, Oklahoma, native is no stranger to GCU Golf Course, as he was the 36-hole leader at the GCU Invitational in March. Owens led the Shockers to the GCU Invitational title and finished individually in a tie for fourth place.
For the year, Owens finished second on Wichita State with a 72.8 stroke average, including a low round of 67. He recorded 62 birdies in 18 rounds with a pair of top-five finishes and four top-20 finishes.
In his career with the Shockers, Owens played at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, carrying a 72.85 stroke average that ranks fourth in Wichita State history. He owns five career top-five finishes and a medalist at the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational in September of 2018.
