The No. 9 Grand Canyon men's volleyball team hosts No. 6 UCLA in two matches this weekend. The Lopes take on the Bruins on Friday at 6 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Both matches will take place at GCU Arena and will be streamedÂ

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- RANKED: The Lopes have been ranked for 10 straight weeks in the top 10 of the National Volleyball Association/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I-II Men's Poll, checking in at No. 9 for the second week in a row. GCU earned its highest ranking in program history at No. 6 on March 1 after defeating No. 1 BYU in three sets.
- PUTTING UP STATS: GCU is ranked in the top 10Â nationally in five categories: fifth in aces per set (1.67) and assists per set (12.26), sixth in kills per set (13.08), seventh in blocks per set (2.449), and ninth in hitting percentage (.315)
- MPSF HONORS: Sophomore outside hitter Christian Janke earned the Lopes' first weekly honor from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation on March 1. Janke was named Defensive Player of the Week after leading GCU in digs against No. 1 BYU.
SCOUTING
UCLA is ranked No. 6 in the NVA/AVCA poll this week with an 11-4 record, also sitting in second place in the MPSF. The Bruins notched their biggest win of the season on Feb. 4 at No. 1 BYU, taking down the Cougars 3-1. UCLA and GCU are the only teams to defeate BYU this season. UCLA is ranked in the top 10 nationally in five categories this season: third in assists per set (12.39), fifth in kills per set (13.09), seventh in aces per set (1.63), eighth in hitting percentage (0.321) and 10th in win/loss percentage (0.733).
UCLA sophomore outside hitter Cole Ketrzynski ranks in the top 25 nationally in four categories: third in aces per set (0.587), sixth in points per set (4.90), ninth in kills per set (4.00) and 24th in attacks per set (7.91).
The Bruins went 10-9 last season, finishing 2-3 in the MPSF.
LAST TIME OUT
- GCU fell at No. 5 Pepperdine in three sets.
- Junior opposite Hugo Fischer led the Lopes with 14 kills in the match.
WHAT'S NEXT
- GCU travels to USC for the final regular-season road trip.
