Medalist win tops in WAC
DENVER – Michael Salazar of the Grand Canyon men's golf team has been named the TicketSmarter WAC Golfer of the Week.
At the GCU Invitational, the senior from El Paso, Texas was just one of three players to shoot par or better in all three rounds.
Salazar closed with a round of 66 to claim medalist honors with a 207 (6 under par) total. He won by three shots over teammate and fellow senior Adam Veenstra.
For the week, Salazar recorded 12 birdies and an eagle in his 54 holes.
GCU is back in action on April 5-6 at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Whirlwind Golf Club in Maricopa, Ariz.
