THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- RANKED: The Lopes have been ranked for eight straight weeks in the top 10 of the National Volleyball Association/American Volleyball Coaches Association Division I-II Men's Poll, checking in at No. 7 this week. GCU earned its highest ranking in program history at No. 6 on March 1 after defeating No. 1 BYU in three sets.
- PUTTING UP STATS: GCU is ranked in the top 10 nationally in six categories: second in assists per set (12.3), third in blocks per set (2.8), fourth in kills per set (13.3), sixth in hitting percentage (.317), eighth in aces per set (1.6) and ninth in attacks per set (28.9).
- MPSF HONORS: Sophomore outside hitter Christian Janke earned the Lopes' first weekly honor from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. Janke was named Defensive Player of the Week after leading GCU in digs against No. 1 BYU.
SCOUTING
USCÂ sits at sixth in the MPSF with a 2-7 record this season. The Trojans kicked off the season with a 3-1 win at UCLAÂ before going on a seven-match losing streak. USC won the last match it played, taking down Concordia in four sets at home. Trojans junior outside Billy Fauntleroy leads the team in kills with 140 and is ranked second nationally in kills per set, just behind GCU freshman
Camden Gianni. Fauntleroy also leads the team in aces at five. USC senior Chris Hall ranks fourth nationally in assists per set at 10.6.
Last year, USC finished 5-14 before the early ending to the season, going 1-6 in the MPSF.

- GCU split its last two-match weekend against No. 1 BYU.
- The Lopes fell in three sets to the Cougars on Feb. 27.
