Grand Canyon men's soccer announced the addition of German forward Maximilian Moeller as a freshman for the fall roster.
"We are excited to welcome Maximilian to our program," GCU head coach
Schellas Hyndman said. "He brings vast experience, having played at the highest level of German pre-first team soccer with different Bundesliga teams. He is an athletic and dynamic, modern striker with clinical finishing abilities. Maxi is a very versatile forward, with a nose for the goal and good technical proficiency. We cannot wait to have Maxi join our strikeforce wearing a GCU jersey."
Moeller competed for Bundesliga teams for three seasons, including FC Koln U19 in 2018-19, SV Sandhausen U19 in 2017-18 and TSG Hoffenheim U17 in 2016-17. During the 2019-20 season, after transferring from FC Koln, he played 10 matches for the Oberliga SV Sandhausen U23 team and regularly trained with the first team squad that plays in 2. Bundesliga.
"I think that GCU is the best university to develop myself," Moeller said. "It is the perfect location to study and play soccer at a high level. I'm also very excited to play in front of 4,000 or more people."
