Grand Canyon men's golf signedΒ Matteo CristoniΒ of Italy to join the program for the 2021-22 season.

Cristoni, who is from Modena, Italy, has been a part of the Italian Boys National Team since 2016. He spent the vast majority of last season ranked among the top five on the Under-18 European Golf Rankings. Cristoni also ranked as high as No. 126 on the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
Cristoni posted numerous accomplishments in elite-level international competitions. He won the Italian National Championship U18 and finished third at the 2019 Royal & Ancient Golf Club's Boys Amateur Championship. Cristoni finished runner-up at the Interationaux de France U18 and third at the 2019 Duke of York Young Champions Trophy. Additionally, Cristoni was a 2019 member of Continent of Europe for The Jacques Leglise Trophy competition.
