2019-20 Schedule
The Grand Canyon men's golf team released its 2019-20 schedule with events from Hawaii to North Carolina and three tournaments in Arizona.
"I'm very excited to get going," GCU head coach
Mark Mueller said. "We've added a couple of new tournaments with strong fields. Our guys have had lots of success this summer and I can't wait to get going again in the fall."
GCU opens the year at the Ram Masters Invitational on Sept. 16-17. The Lopes close the fall with a busy October. GCU plays at the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational, the Cal State Northridge Cullum Invitational and the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational to close out the Halloween month.
In the spring, the Lopes make their annual trip to Hawaii, host the GCU Invitational (March 13-14) at GCU Championship Golf Course and play in a pair of new tournaments (North Carolina's Tar Heel Intercollegiate and Purdue's Boilermaker Invitational).
The Lopes also play again at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler on April 6-7. GCU took third place in the tournament's 20-team field last season.
The WAC Championship returns to Arizona as the three-day tournament will be held at Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club in Maricopa on May 1-3. When the conference tournament was last staged in Arizona in 2017, GCU posted the event's lowest team score but was ineligible for the WAC title and automatic NCAA tournament berth because the Lopes were in the athletic program's Division I transition period.
