After a weekend when three Grand Canyon records fell, three Lopes won WAC Athlete of the Week awards after their respective performances.

Zachary Galgan snagged the honors this week for their marks last weekend.
At the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, N.M., Hokanson broke the GCU school record in the 800-meter run by more than two seconds and became the first WAC female athlete to break the 2-minute, 10-second barrier since 2013 (altitude adjusted). Hokanson ranks first in the conference with a 2:09.83 time.
Galgan cleared 5.03 meters in the pole vault at the Don Kirby Invitational and has now set two personal records in as many weeks. Galgan and teammate
Nathan Wesolek rank first in the WAC at 5.03 meters.
Winfield widened his lead on the WAC with a personal best 7.93 time in the 60-meter hurdles at the Don Kirby Invitational. His times ranks in the national top 50.
The Lopes will send a small group of athletes to the NAU Tune Up meet on Friday in Flagstaff, Ariz., before heading to Nampa, Idaho, for the WAC Indoor Championships.
