FINAL RESULTS
GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The Grand Canyon women's golf team captured the Bobcat Invitational on Tuesday, doing so in grand fashion with a school record final round team score of 286.
Alexis Linam finished runner-up, while
Deanna Salvatori claimed fourth-place.
GCU entered the final round with a three-shot lead over Portland State. The Lopes lead remained throughout the day in the 6-to-10 shot range, before the Lopes finished with an 871 total, besting the Vikings (878) by seven shots.
The Lopes cruised by the other Western Athletic Conference schools in the field as Utah Valley (894) finished fourth, Bakersfield (938) took 11
th and UTRGV (948) finished 12
th.
GCU's final round was led by
Courtney Vogel and
Siripatsorn Patchana, both coming through with 70s. Linam and Salvatori each finished with 73s, while
Carolina Sandstrom had a 74. In addition to Linam in second and Salvatori in fourth, Vogel finished in 7
th place, while Patchana and Sandstrom each tied for 17
th place.
GCU is back in action at the WAC Championships on 16-18 at the Legacy Golf Club in Phoenix.
