Day One Results
The Grand Canyon women's golf team finished the first day of the GCU Invitational in sixth place on Saturday.
GCU shot rounds of 307 and 306 for a 613 total. The Lopes are just four shots behind third-place Northern Colorado.
Utah Valley leads the tournament by three shots with a 597 mark. Portland State is in second place at 600. UNC (608), Seattle (611) and Oakland (612) round out the top five.
Kelly Hooper of Montana State is the individual leader with a 146 +2 total. Hooper fired a first round 70, followed by a 76 to finish the day.
Siripatsorn Patchana leads GCU in sixth place after rounds of 77-73, good for a 150 total.
Deanna Salvatori is in 15
th place with a 152 total after rounds of 76-76.Â
Courtney Vogel is in 23
rd place with a 153, followed by
Wendy Monfort at 158 and
Carolina Sandstrom at 161.
Playing as individuals,
Alexis Linam shot 156, Kyle Fong had a 158 and
Leleaga Meredith had a 161 total.
The final 18 holes will take place on Tuesday morning at GCU Golf Course.
