Lopes travel west to Los Angeles for weekend meet

GCU takes on Loyola Marymount University and Seattle University
The Grand Canyon men's and women's swimming and diving program will travel west to Los Angeles, Calif. for the teams second meet of the season on Friday, Oct. 20th and Saturday, Oct. 21st at Burns Aquatic Center on the campus of Loyola Marymount University.
The women's team will compete in a dual meet against both the Loyola Marymount Lions and fellow Western Athletic Conference opponent Seattle University Redhawks. The men will solely go up against the Redhawks on Saturday to wrap up the competition.
The meet will begin on Friday at 1:30 p.m. MST and on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. MST. Due to a 5K Cancer Awareness event taking place at Loyola Marymount on Saturday, campus access will be restricted. Therefore, anyone attending the meet on this day should plan to arrive prior to 8:30 a.m. when they will shut it down for the event.
Last year, the Lopes went up against both teams at Seattle, picking up several sweeping victories and six new pool records. The team collectively suffered one loss on the women's side to the Redhawks on the first day of competition.
