Earns honor for March 3-9

Grand Canyon University senior golfer Mark Geddes has been named the Western Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for March 3-9, as announced by the conference office today. This is the first weekly award for the GCU men's golf team.

Geddes had previously been named WAC Golfer of the Month for September.

Geddes led the Antelopes after tying for 12^th of 64 competitors at the Del Walker Intercollegiate last week. Following two rounds, Geddes was tied for 10^th after a strong second round that saw him card a 3-under par 67. In that round, he collected five birdies. Geddes finished the tournament with 10 birdies, which tied him for the fifth-most at the event.

GCU will be back in action next week (March 20-22) when they will compete in Arizona for the first time this season at the Desert Shootout hosted by Kansas State at the Palm Valley Country Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
