The Grand Canyon University women’s golf team holds a commanding 22-shot lead after the first two rounds of the Glen Ivy Intercollegiate in Riverside, Calif.
The Antelopes fired an opening two round total of 37-over 613 to outpace second-place Oklahoma Christian (635). GCU shot an opening round 301 and followed with a 312 over the final 18 holes of the day.
GCU’s
Charlotte Jaengkit leads the tournament after posting a 36-hole total of 1-over 145. Dixie State’s Haley Dunn is in second with a 149.
Grand Canyon’s
Emily Kaye is in third with a 152 and is followed by teammates
Phoeba Cipa (6
th with a 155) and
Kelcey Tate(10
th with a 161).
The final round of the Glen Ivy Intercollegiate will be played tomorrow on the Par-72 Victoria Club course. The tournament is the second for the women this spring season. GCU finished second at the Super San Diego Championship two weeks ago and won three of five Fall tournaments they played in to begin the 2012-13 campaign.
