GCU Hosts Spring Invitational March 26-27

The No. 11 Grand Canyon University men’s golf team hosts their annual spring invitational this week, March 26-27 at the Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
The tournament is set to kick off with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start on the par-72 Heritage (Red) Course at the Wigwam. The 20-team event will span two days with two rounds played on Monday and the final round on Tuesday.
GCU highlights Brandon Moore who has led the team in all three tournaments played this spring. Moore carded a season low-round 69 at the Pioneer Shootout to finish second indivdually and has also slated seventh- and 10th-place finishes.
Grand Canyon recently made a jump from 24th to 11th in the Golf World/Nike Golf Division II Top-25 Coaches Poll. The Antelopes are looking to build upon their success after having five-straight runner up finishes this season and are working towards their first team title of the 2011-12 campaign.
