The Grand Canyon University men’s golf team is competing in the SoCal Intercollegiate Championship March 12-13 hosted by UC San Diego at the Mission Viejo Country Club in Mission Viejo, Calif.
The Antelopes are off to a great start to the spring season, placing second in both tournaments competed in. Most recently, GCU finished second at the Pioneer Shootout with a 50 over-par 914.
Grand Canyon’s Brandon Moore had his best finish of the season finishing in the runner-up position after leading most the tournament. He finished just two strokes behind the tournament medalist with a seven over-par 223. His first round 69 was the low-round score of the tournament, making him the only player to shoot below 70 the entire tournament.
Sophomore Mark Geddes finds himself back in the top five after missing the first two tournaments of the spring season. Geddes led the 'Lopes during the fall in two tournaments and also carded two top-10 finishes as an individual.
This week’s SoCal Intercollegiate Championship begins with two rounds played today and the final round being played tomorrow. Results can be found at GCULopes.com.
