The Grand Canyon University men's soccer team has signed Jordan Petit, an all-state selection from age 12 through high school in Pondrome, Belgium, to a National Letter of Intent. The 5-foot-10 forward/midfielder will be a freshman when he enrolls at GCU later this month. He is undecided about his major.
Petit, 18, played for FC Vencimont and was picked for the Danone Cup, a big youth tournament. He attended Institut Notre-Dame Beauraing-Gedinne high school. Previously, he went to Institut Notre-Dame du Sacre-Coeur.
"Jordan comes into our program as a freshman," GCU Head Coach Petar Draksin said. "He obviously has some impressive numbers from his past performances with his high school and club teams, as well as some top Belgian tournaments. His strengths are he's quick and crafty, and he can take on opponents one v. one, He also comes in with an excellent educational background.
"With all that being said, Jordan knows he's got to come into the program and impress, especially in the preseason."
