The Grand Canyon University lacrosse team dropped an 11-7 decision to Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont, Calif. today.
The loss dropped GCU to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the Western Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
The Antelopes struck quickly today, scoring two goals in the opening two minutes to take a 2-0 lead.
Jacob Hippensteel scored the first of his four goals just 1:13 into the game and teammate
Kyle Mason added a tally just 46 seconds later for the visitors.
NDNU answered, scoring the next five goals to go up 5-2.

The Argonauts, however, scored the first four goals in the fourth to close out the victory.
Andrew Hunter started in goal and made 20 saves, facing 53 shots during the game.
The Antelopes were outshot 53-22 in the game and beaten in the ground ball battle, 41-25.
Grand Canyon returns to the road when they will travel to West Virginia to face Wheeling Jesuit on April 1 and Bethany College on April 2.
