GCU men rally in the third round to earn their way to seventh place finish, Chico State grabs title.
Chico State was named the champions of the Western Washington University Invitational today after a third round score of 287 to put the team combined score at 865. Western Washington and Cal State Monterey Bay tied for the second place slot with scores of 866. Western Washingtons' Brian Barhanovich and Sanoma State's Patrick Bauer tied for first.
After two rounds the 'Lopes were in the 10th place spot but after rallying in the third round, the men were able to earn their way to a seventh place finish. The low score for the team came from Mark Geddes who shot an impressive 216 for the tournament and tied for 13th overall. Coming in six strokes behind Geddes was Tyler Wooldridge, finishing with a combined score of 222 after scoring 74 across the board. Jacob Golembiewski had a good first and third round but struggled in the second to put him tied for 37th and a final score of 223. Daniel Harrington rallied in the third round with a score of 67 but was unable to make up for a rough first two rounds. Harrington carded the lowest single round score for the team. Matt Pridey finished tied for 58th and a final score of 228 after shooting 76, 73 and 79.
