M Soccer 4-13-08 Ex-GCU player scores playoff goal Former Grand Canyon University men's soccer player Randy Soderman scored his fourth career playoff goal and second career three-pointer in Sunday's Major Indoor Soccer League playoffs in Monterey, Mexico. Soderman, a defenseman for the Chicago Storm, scored at the 7:19 mark of the first quarter. But it wasn't enough as the Storm lost 17-5 to host La Raza de Monterrey in Game 2 of the quarterfinal playoff series. La Raza won the Golden Goal game to end the Storm's season. Chicago, which went 15-15 in the regular season, beat Monterrey 10-8 in overtime in Game 1 of the quarterfinal series. Soderman played at GCU in 1994 and was a second team California Collegiate Athletic Association selection. |
