LINCOLN, Neb. -- As the old adage goes, "Your chances are slim and none and slim just left town."
But there's another phrase made popular by a college football analyst that goes, "Not so fast, my friend."
Welcome to the final day of the NCAA Central/West Super Regional from the perspective of Grand Canyon University men's golf team.
Heading into Wednesday's final round, the Lopes were in ninth place and trailed the fifth and final qualifying spot by 19 strokes.
GCU needed to play its best round of the tournament and needed one of the top five teams to falter ... and that's exactly what happened.
