Former GCU goalkeeper USL First Division's best
Former Grand Canyon University goalkeeper Dusty Hudock, now playing professionally with the CharlestonBattery, leads the United Soccer League's First Division in three major statistical categories.
Hudock, who played at GCU in 1990, leads the First Division in wins (6), shutouts (8) and goals against average (.200) this season. He is 6-0-3 in 10 games, having allowed just two goals this season.
Hudock is the Battery's all-time leader in goalkeeper wins (136) and shutouts (99), while starting an organization record 269 games.
In 2003, Hudock won a First Division championship with the Battery. He was the First Division Goalkeeper of the Year in 1997 and 2002.
Hudock also played professionally with Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids, Chicago Fire and Miami Fusion as well as the A League's Seattle Sounders and First Division's Rochester Raging Rhinos.
At Grand Canyon, Hudock tied a school record for shutouts in a season with nine in 1990. His 1.14 GAA is tied for 10th among school season leaders. He was 12-7-2 with 103 saves as GCU advanced to the NAIA Area II Championship Game, losing to Midwestern State in his only season with the Antelopes. Hudock was an NAIA All-District VII selection.
