GCU Scores Three First-Half Goals, Shuts Out Dixie State
The Grand Canyon University men's soccer team scored two goals in the first seven minutes and never looked back as it defeated Dixie State College, 3-0, tonight at St. George, Utah.
Freshman forward Kyle Ciliento (Phoenix, AZ/Pinnacle) found junior defender/midfielderTom Hurdle (pictured, North Yorkshire, England/King James) in the second minute, and seven minutes later junior midfielder/forward Pat Perkins (Bremerton, WA/Bremerton)passed to freshman midfielder Nathan Wasson (Chandler, AZ/Hamilton), who found Ciliento to jump out to an early 2-0 lead. It was Ciliento's 18th goal of the season, tops in the PacWest.
