Grand Canyon's Bentley Nakasawa shot a 6-under 71-67 -- 138 to settle into second place after the first two rounds of the GCU-Thunderbirds Invitational Monday at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear.
Nakasawa (pictured) is two strokes behind Wayland Baptist's Jeff Dagg, the first day leader who shot 8-under 70-66 -- 136 on the 7,015-yard course. Central Oklahoma's Colby Shrum shot a 4-under 68-72 -- 140 to anchor his team into the top spot.
Four Central Oklahoma golfers positioned themselves among the top eight after Monday's first two rounds.
Grand Canyon is tied for third with Western Washington after both teams shot 576 in the first two rounds. Central Oklahoma (564) leads the tournament by four strokes over Wayland Baptist (568). Point Loma Nazarene (581) is fifth entering Tuesday's final round.
