A legendary player for the GCU women's tennis program Tatum Prudhomme returns to the program in 2021 as the team's new assistant head coach.Â
Prudhomme competed for four years at Grand Canyon, and left her mark on the program. From 2013-2017, Prudhomme was an all-around player for the Lopes amassing a 43-23 record in singles and a 45-22 record in doubles.Â
She helped lead the Lopes to two WAC regular season championships in 2015 and 2017. She was named to the First Team All-WAC singles and First Team All-WAC doubles teams three years in a row. She was also named WAC Player of the Week four times during her career. Off the court Prudhomme also served on the GCU Student Athlete Advisory Committee.Â
After her playing careeer was over, Prudhomme coached for two seasons as a graduate assistant from 2018-19. In those two years the Lopes captured the 2019 WAC regular season title and advanced to two straight WAC Tournament finals. Prudhomme coached the players earned 16 individual All-WAC honors.
The GCU tennis program is a family affair for Tatum who will coach alongside her father, head coach Greg Prudhomme, as well as lead her younger sister Autum who joined the program in 2017.
