- Made seven appearances and five mid-week starts in freshman campaign, going 0-4 with a 5.63 ERA.
- Faced some of the toughest competition you will see in his mid-week starts: exhibition against Arizona Diamondbacks on Feb. 22, at No. 13 Arizona on March 29, at No. 15 Arkansas on April 5, vs. No. 8 Arizona on April 11, and vs. Kansas on April 25.
- His first four batters faced in a GCU uniform were AJ Pollock, Brandon Drury, Paul Goldschmidt and Jake Lamb of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
- Made official collegiate debut against UNLV on March 14 in relief.
- Limited the nation's top offense, Arizona, to two runs on four hits while striking out four on March 29 in Tucson.

- Pitched on varsity all four years of high school, lowering his ERA each year from a 5.09 as a freshman in 2013 to a 1.35 as a senior in 2016.
- Earned Division III All-Arizona recognition as a junior and senior.
- Named Section Player of the Year as a junior and garnered All-Section first team recognition as a senior.
- Finished his junior year in 2015 by pitching a nine-inning shutout in the state playoffs.
- Struck out 18 batters in a 7-0 shutout effort over Wickenburg on April 1, 2016.
- Ranked as a Top 10 left-handed pitcher in the state of Arizona by Perfect Game.
- Also played outfield and first base for the Lobos.
- Named USA Baseball / MaxPrep Player of the Week on April 25, 2016 for the southwest region after going 8-for-9 from the plate with two home runs.
- Also played soccer and basketball his first two years of high school before focusing on baseball.

- Mother, Cyrena, played basketball at Mesa Community College.
- His inspiration is his special needs brother, Zach, who has also battled leukemia. Says, "My brother would die for the game of baseball and he cannot play for himself, so I play for him."
