Canyon Del Oro High School - Oro Valley, Ariz.
Posted a career ERA of 3.05 through four seasons of varsity baseball, highlighted by a 1.98 and 2.03 as a freshman and sophomore. Held opposing batters to a .217 cumulative batting average and was a team captain all four years.
After being seeded 9, 16 and 10, respectively, in the state tournament, the Dorados broke through in his senior season to claim the Division II state title as the three seed.
Made the start in the state championship game, tossing five superb innings in the team's 3-1 victory, including a streak of seven straight batters retired to finish his outing. CDO finished the championship season 32-2.
