The 9-1 Grand Canyon men's tennis team took down Lipscomb 4-2 on Friday at GCU Tennis Facility. This win continued the Lopes' undefeated home streak as they head into the weekend as a top-60 team in the nation.

GCU secured the doubles point in fewer than 30 minutes with wins on Courts 1 and 3.

The Court 3 win came in 6-1 fashion from freshman
Tim Hohmann and junior transfer
Charlie Pade.

This was Hohmann's second start for the Lopes after making his debut last match in doubles.

On Court 1, GCU junior
Brice Patoux and sophomore
Daniel Jankoski took care of the Bison's Facundo Perlov and Alex Vlahos 6-2Â to secure the doubles point for the Lopes.

In singles, the Lopes continued to dominate by taking the first set on all six courts.

Patoux got the scoring started for the Lopes on Court 5, securing his match 6-1, 6-3. This win moved him to 10-0 on the season in singles play.

French sophomore
Tristan Berard clinched his court, sweeping Perlov 6-2, 6-2. With this win, Berard goes to 9-1 in singles with a four-game win streak.

Jankoski took Court 3 to clinch the dual match for the Lopes by beating Vlahos 6-4, 6-4.

Although the Lopes clinched the win, the rest of the matches were played out.

On Court 6, Pade took took the first set 6-1 before battling to a 7-6, second-set victory on a 7-2 tiebreaker.

GCU sophomore
Andreas Loizas had a strong first set, winning 6-1. In the second set, Loizas nearly came back from a 5-2 hole, bringing it back to 5-5 before falling 7-5. Loizas won a third-set tiebreaker 10-2.

The Lopes look ahead to Saturday, when they will take on reigning Mountain West champion Boise State at GCU Tennis Facility at noon.
