Siddiqui seeks first conference tournament title at helm of GCU

Top-seeded Grand Canyon vies for consecutive WAC Tournament championship match appearances with Seattle U standing in the way in the semifinals Friday.

3 THINGS TO KNOW

WAC IN 2025: With just four WAC teams in men's tennis this season, no regular-season championship was awarded. The WAC Tournament will award the champion with an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. GCU faced Seattle U for a 4-0 win in the regular season, but the match did not count toward a WAC record.
SIDDIQUI SUCCESS: The Lopes won double-digit matches for the first time since the 2018-2019 season. GCU teams under Siddiqui have improved their win totals in each of his three Lopes seasons.
BALANCED ATTACK: Grand Canyon has received support from most of the roster this season. Eight Lopes have four singles wins this year, while four have eight wins.

SCOUTING SEATTLE U

Seattle U played a light number of matches this season, with just 10 regular-season duals. The Redhawks went 2-8, including a 4-0 loss at GCU on March 28.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The Lopes need a win over Seattle U to compete in back-to-back WAC title matches. They would play the winner of No. 2 UT Arlington, who beat the Lopes in last year's title match; or No. 3 seed Abilene Christian.
