The Grand Canyon women's golf team earned its first win of the season, and first win under first-year head coach
Brent Nicoson, in the GCU Invitational two weeks ago and endure its busiest stretch of the season starting Monday.
GCU heads west to La Quinta, California, for the Yale West Invitational, one of three tournaments it will play in March March and five tournaments in a 23-day span. It is the Lopes' second trip to California this spring after beginning the spring season in Palm Desert at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic, earning 11th of 21 teams.
The 12-team field is loaded with ranked teams across the country, seven of which rank in the top 50 of the Clippd Scoreboard rankings. Vanderbilt leads the field at No. 12, with North Carolina (No. 15) and Kansas (No. 23) owning spots in the top 25.
The full field includes Vanderbilt (No. 12), North Carolina (15). Kansas (23), Oklahoma State (27), Kansas State (30), California (32), Virginia Tech (50), Long Beach State (62), Grand Canyon (68), Princeton (72), San Diego State (113), Yale (126).
The Lopes will field the exact same roster as it did at the GCU Invitational, including
Calynne Rosholt,
Anci Dy,
Brenna Preap,
Lena Tremouille and
Jess Haines. Rosholt earned second place in a three-hole playoff, the highest Lope placement this season.
