Postseason extends with CSCAA, zone diving championships

24 swimmers head to Florida with 4 divers going to Washington
Grand Canyon's swimming and diving teams are set for a crucial week of postseason competition, with divers and swimmers competing in separate championship events.
The diving team is in Federal Way, Washington, for the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships, where they will compete for a chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships. Representing GCU are freshman Omar Elsayed, sophomore Bryce Porter, senior Shiori Bak and sophomore Lacey Neighbor, each of whom secured a spot through strong regular-season performances.
Meanwhile, 12 men and 12 women Lopes swimmers will compete in Ocala, Florida, at the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championships.
Though they are separate events, the divers scoring will go toward the team standings at the NIC.
The Lopes head into these competitions riding the momentum of a strong finish at WAC Championships.
The NCAA Zone E Diving Championships take place Monday through Wednesday, while the CSCAA National Invitational Championships will run Thursday to Saturday.
