Grand Canyon completes a four-match Mountain West road trip at New Mexico and UNLV this week.

Tatum Hofstetter scored the game-winning goal in GCU's last match at San Jose State, her fourth goal of the season and ninth point on the year. Both numbers lead the team. Hoftstetter won MW Offensive Player of the Week in week 3.
Junior goalkeeper Emma Knack is third in the nation in saves with 87, and 5th in the country in saves per match (7.3). She holds the top-3 MW single-match totals this season (16, 11, 11).
Knack is 2nd in the Mountain West in shutouts (6), leading the conference in saves, saves per match.
The Lopes also split the opening weekend in MW play at home, beating Air Force and losing to San Diego State.
Sophomore Reese Clem recorded GCU's first "brace" in the last two seasons, 9/28 vs Air Force.
The GCU / AF match was the first GCU match both teams scored multiple times in one half since GCU & UMKC played in 2013.
Head Coach Chris Cissell won his 450th total match across both men's and women's soccer in the Air Force win.
Cissell earned his 65th all-time win at GCU with the win over NAU, passing Stevie Gill (08-15) as the winningest coach in program history. He has the most wins in four different programs. (GCU, UMKC, William Jewell men/women).
Sophomore forward Ellie Johannes is tied for the team lead in points (9) and leads the team in assists (3). Ellie has recorded a point in five of the last six matches.
Lopes senior midfielder AJ Loera is two assists away from the program's all-time record set by Marleen Schimmer & Leah Pirro (18).
LAST TIME OUT
Grand Canyon split their second weekend in Mountain West play, losing 1-0 at Nevada and winning at San Jose State, 1-0.
GCU out shot the Wolf Pack 15-9, missing a PK in the 86th minute to potentially tie the match.
After a 0-0 first half, Grand Canyon came out swinging, scoring within three minutes of the second half. Knack earned her sixth shutout of the season behind another eight saves.
MOUNTAIN WEST QUICK FACTS
Grand Canyon joins the Mountain West this fall, making the Lopes the 13th team in the conference for the 2025 season.
The top six teams will make the Mountain West Tournament in Boise, Idaho, with the winner of the tournament collecting an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
GCU enters week 9 in 2nd place, accumulating six points with their 2-2 record. Six teams trail them with five points, including a couple teams that have only played three conference games so far.
Boise State sits atop the Mountain West standings with eight points (2-0-2 MW record).
SCOUTING NEVADA &Â SAN JOSE STATE
This is the fifth meeting between New Mexico and GCU. UNM holds a 3-1 advantage.
The Lopes beat New Mexico 2-1 in Albuquerque in 2022, most recently.
The Lobos are 5-2-4 (1-0-2 MW) this season. Last week, they had two road draws vs. San Jose State and Fresno State.
This is the fourth meeting between UNLV and GCU. GCU holds a 2-1 advantage.
