Grand Canyon seeks the program's first ranked win on Sunday night when it faces No. 7 Utah State at GCU Stadium.

AT A GLANCE

There will be a student "March to the Match" pregame.
GCU has the opportunity to take down its first ranked opponent in program history. The Lopes lost a pair of one-goal matches to ranked teams last season (3-2 at No. 11 Arkansas and 1-0 at No. 22 USC in the NCAA tournament).
Utah State is ranked No. 7 in the country with an 8-0-1 record.
The Aggies have wins over Utah and Utah Valley.
The Lopes dropped Thursday's home match against Incarnate Word.
GCU went 2-0 last week, including its first road win of the season Sunday at Nevada.
The Lopes beat Northern Arizona 1-0 at a packed GCU Stadium on Sept. 12. The attendance was a program record of 3,475 fans.
The NAU game ranks as the ninth-highest attendance in the nation, entering this week's matches. GCU home matches rank 14th in average attendance.
Lopes senior midfielder Brenna Alderson scored her first goal of the season in the 80th minute. She is the ninth goal scorer for GCU this year. She received WAC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 5 (Sept. 9-15).
Senior Destinee Duran-Wise received WAC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 5 (Sept. 9-15).
Senior Sidney Roberts received WAC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 3 (Aug. 26-Sept. 1).
The Lopes have 14 players with an assist through the first 10 matches this season. They were tied for fourth in the country in that category entering the week.
Senior goalkeeper DeAira Jackson has accumulated five shutouts, which ties her for sixth in the country this season. She had seven shutouts last season.

LAST TIME OUT

GCU lost to Incarnate Word 1-0 on Thursday at GCU Stadium.
The Lopes outshot the Cardinals 27-6, garnering 10 shots on goal.
Incarnate Word scored on a penalty kick in the 24th minute.

DYNAMIC DEFENSE

GCU has allowed four goals all season. Only one goal has been given up in the second half.
The Lopes are tied for 19th nationally for goals allowed per match (0.44). Only one goal has been allowed in the last five matches.
The four GCU players with the most minutes are in goal or on the back line.

SCOUTING UTAH STATE

This is the second all-time meeting between Utah State and GCU.
The Lopes last played the Aggies in Logan, Utah, for a 3-3 tie on Aug. 28, 2022.
Utah State sophomore Summer Diamond leads the team in points (11) on four goals and three assists.
Aggies goalkeeper Cora Brendle has two shutouts this season, including one at home Thursday in a 0-0 tie against Washington State.
