Puehse, Strombacha snag WAC honors for 2nd straight week

Puehse goes 2-0 on Court 1; duo goes 2-0 in doubles to lead Lopes to regular-season crown
For the second straight week, Grand Canyon graduate Natasha Puehse and senior Santa Strombacha swept the WAC's weekly tennis honors.
As a doubles team, Puehse and Strombacha went 2-0 on the top doubles court in wins against Abilene Christian and Tarleton State. The duo earned WAC Doubles Players of the Week. Puehse and Strombacha are 16-3 as a doubles team this season.
Strombacha claimed WAC Singles Player of the Week last week, and it was Puehse's turn this week after going 2-0 on the top singles courts. Puehse improved to 16-1 on Court 1.
Collectively, Puehse and Strombacha were atop a Lopes lineup that defeated both opponents 7-0 on the week to clinch at least a share of the WAC regular-season title. GCU also clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming WAC Tournament.
