FRESNO, California – The Grand Canyon women's golf team completed the second and final day of the Fresno State Classic on Tuesday, placing 11th out of 21 teams with 28-over-par score.
No team finished under par for the tournament. Colorado State took the first-place spot at 3 over, followed by Cal Poly at 7 over and No. 12 Pepperdine at 14 over.
Tuesday's play began with the conclusion of round two, which was halted Monday due to darkness. GCU finished as the fifth-best team in the field on par-5 scoring, totaling a 9-under score on such holes. Lopes senior
Constanza Guerrero shot 6 under on par 5s, which was tied for best among the 116-player field. The Lopes were also the only team to have two eagles during the tournament.
Junior
Leighton Shosted finished best for the Lopes, earning a top-25 placement in a tie for 22nd at 5 over par. Shosted had six birdies for the tournament and carded a 1-over third round, tied with sophomore teammate
Ryan Flynn for best on the day. Flynn tied for 34th with a score of 7 over, notching six birdies and an eagle over 54 holes.
Guerrero finished tied for 44th at 9 over with a Tuesday-best four birdies. She tallied eight birdies and an eagle overall. GCU seniors
Carly Strole and
Becca Tschetter tied for 62nd at 12 over.
GCU's record moves to 124-19 in nine tournaments this season. It has one regular-season tournament remaining before the WAC Championship on April 19-21 in Payson, Arizona. The Bobcat Desert Classic runs April 8-10 at the Golf Club of Estrella in Goodyear, Arizona.

The Lopes nearly finished round two play before it was suspended for darkness. GCU has three holes left to play Tuesday, which will begin with a shotgun start followed by the third and final round.
GCU carded a team total of 20 over Monday and sit seven shots back from a top-5 placement. Colorado State leads the field at 1 under, the only school to go under par.
Shosted and Flynn are tied for 33rd at 5-over par. Shosted shot 2 over in her first round, with a birdie and 14 pars. Flynn, who also shot 2-over in the first round, had three birdies and an eagle in her second round. Flynn is one of two Lopes to tally an eagle, joining Guerrero, as the Lopes are the only team with two eagles so far in the tournament.
Guerrero is tied for 41st at 6-over with four birdies in total. Both Strole and Tschetter are tied for 70th at 9-over par.
GCU is tied for second on par-5 scoring, totaling a 9-under score on such holes. Guerrero is tied for second with a 4 under card on par 5's.
