The Grand Canyon men's volleyball team returns home for their final two nonconference matches of the season when they face NJIT at Global Credit Union Arena.

Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.

3 THINGS TO KNOW

OUTRIGGER INVITE: Last week the Lopes competed at the prestigious Outrigger Invitational and faced three ranked opponents in four days. The Lopes lost for the first time this year in five sets to No. 5 UC Irvine and the lost to host No. 3 Hawaii in front of nearly 9,000 fans at the Stan Sherrif Center. GCU wrapped up the event with a dramatic reverse sweep against No. 14 Lewis.
THORNE EARNS 2ND HONOR: After the solid week in Hawaii, sophomore middle blocker Cameron Thorne earned his second MPSF Defensive Player of the Week honor. Thorne led the Lopes with 19 blocks including a career-high eight rejections against Lewis. Thorne also added seven digs and 42 points on the offensive side of the net. The Hollywood, Fla. native ranks second in the MPSF in blocks per set at 1.29.
UNBEATEN: GCU holds a perfect 9-0 record all-time against NJIT. The Lopes and Highlanders haven't played since 2018 when GCU won 3-0 in their last meeting on Jan. 18 in Phoenix.

SCOUTING

NJIT enters this weekend just 1-5 in their last six matches as they embark on their longest roadtrip of the season since the season opener at the Asics Invitational in Santa BarbaraJ. The Highlanders have been solid at home with six of their eight wins coming in Newark. Junior outside hitter Alessandro Negiri leads the team with 3.21 kills per set while middle blocker Andrew Fedmasu has a team-high 63 blocks.

GCU will continue MPSF play at Concordia on March 21 and 22.
