After beginning the spring campaign with a first-place finish at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate in Litchfield Park, the Grand Canyon women's golf team stays home and hosts the GCU Invitational at GCU Golf Course.

The two-day tournament begins with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Tuesday, when each team will play two rounds. Wednesday's third and final round also will begin at 8 a.m. The GCU Golf Course plays at a par 72, with Tuesday action at 6,155 yards and Wednesday at 6,126 yards.

Through five tournaments this season, GCU has won three team titles and finished in the top five in each event. It holds a 66-6 record against its competition and most recently won by five strokes to open the spring season.

The GCU Invitational will host a field of 21 teams, four of which reside in the WAC (GCU, Tarleton State, Southern Utah and Seattle U). The Lopes enter the tournament 81st in the nation via the NCAA Clippd Rankings for the third-highest ranking in the field behind Long Beach State (No. 69) and New Mexico State (No. 77).

The field also features Oral Roberts, Idaho, Houston Christian, Northern Colorado, Northern Arizona, Seton Hall, Long Beach State, Montana State, UC Riverside, North Dakota, Eastern Washington, Marshall, New Mexico State, UC Irvine, Cal State Fullerton, UTEP and North Dakota State.

Eight players will represent GCU throughout the tournament. The starting five includes seniors
Constanza Guerrero,
Carly Strole and
Becca Tschetter with junior
Leighton Shosted and sophomore
Ryan Flynn. Freshmen
Lena Tremouille and
Brenna Preap and sophomore
Amelia Curtis will compete as individuals. Shosted placed fourth at the BGSU Women's Intercollegiate with Guerrero one shot behind her in fifth.
