The Grand Canyon men's soccer team signed premier defender Felipe Cobian to the squad, bolstering its defensive line ahead of the 2025 season.
Cobian is transferring from Mt. San Antonio College and has two years of eligibility left. A 5-foot-7 native of Montclair, California, Cobian logged six goal and three assists as a sophomore and two game-winning goals as a freshman. This fall, he led the Mounties to a 14-4-4 record and the SoCal Regional round.
Cobian's efforts earned him the South Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Year award, a spot on the conference's first team and honors on the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division III All-America second team.
The Mt. SAC captain also was named to the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association's all-region squad as well as United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division III Men's All-America Second Team.
Cobian is the seventh player to be signed this offseason, joining a class of five incoming freshmen and junior transfer Martin Luala from Phoenix College.
