THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- HOME DOMINANCE: The Lopes wrapped up their 10-match home schedule over the weekend with shutout wins over Stephen F. Austin and Sam Houston. The Lopes finished the regular season with an 8-2 record at the GCU Tennis Facility this season to set a new Division I program record. The previous high for home wins was back in 2011 when the Lopes finished 12-2.
 - SENIOR DAY: Sunday's win against Sam Houston was special for seniors Natasha Puehse and Madeline Lamroeaux, who helped the Lopes pick up a 7-0 win in their final home competition. Puehse and Lamoreaux picked up singles and doubles wins with Puehse's straight-set Court 1 singles win clinched the team win for the Lopes.
 - REGULAR-SEASON FINALE: After facing the Texans and Wildcats this week, the Lopes will head to Las Cruces to take on New Mexico State in the final match of the regular season. The Lopes will face the Aggies on April 16 and the team will have 11 days to prepare for the start of the WAC Tournament on April 27.
SCOUTING
Tarleton sits in the upper half of the WAC standings with two weeks left in the regular season with a 3-2 record. The Texans split the opening weekend against conference play with a 6-1 win over UT Rio Grande Valley and a 6-1 loss to UT Arlington before winning two of three road matches against Stephen F. Austin, Sam Houston and Abilene Christian. Emma Persson leads the team with a 13-3 record in singles while Ximena Morales leads the team with a 9-4 doubles record and a 4-1 mark in WAC play.Â
Abilene Christian has been solid at home this season with a 6-3 record. The Wildcats started WAC play with two straight losses but have won two of three heading into this weekend over Sam Houston and Tarleton. ACU will take on New Mexico State on Thursday before facing the Lopes on Saturday. The Wildcats will wrap up the regular season with a long road trip to Utah Tech and Seattle U on April 14 and 16.
