The No. 5 Grand Canyon men's volleyball returns home for the start of a 10-match homestand that begins on Friday and Saturday against No. 8 BYU. The Lopes are coming off a win and thier first loss against Pepperdine last week.
Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
3 THINGS TO KNOW
- PERFECT HOME RECORD: The Lopes return to GCU Arena for 10 straight matches looking to extend their perfect 9-0 home record. GCU is one of three programs in the MPSF with an unbeaten home record joining UCLA (7-0) and BYU (6-0).
- GIANNI RETURNS TO FORM: Redshirt junior outside hitter Camden Gianni returned to form against Pepperdine last week. The two-time AVCA All-American collected 26 kills against the Waves and had six service aces in the 3-2 win on Feb. 22. Gianni also added 10 digs and five blocks, all season-highs for a two-match series.
- RANKINGS SOLIDIFIED: The Lopes made the leap to No. 5 in the AVCA DI-II Coaches Poll on Feb. 6 for the first time in program history and have stayed in the same spot for four consecutive weeks. The Lopes are one of six teams from the MPSF in the top-15 poll and they join UCLA, Pepperdine, BYU and Stanford inside the top-10.
SCOUTING
BYU is coming off a pair of road wins over Concordia to get back to 2-2 in conference play. The Cougars are young this season with 70% of their roster filled with freshmen and sophomore. After facing the Lopes the Cougars will return to Provo to end the regular season with an eight match homestand. Senior libero Mitchel Worthington reached the 500 dig milestone last week and he leads the team with 76 digs. Freshman outside hitter Trent Moser leads the team with 101 kills this season.

- GCU will host Ball State and Olivet Nazarene at GCU Arena on March 8 and 10.
