3 THINGS TO KNOW
- FORWARDS CONTRIBUTE: All three forwards were involved in GCU's scoring chances on the latest roadtrip. Senior forard Gianna Gourley led the Lopes scoring and was involved in all four GCU goals in a win at Southern Utah. Senior Bekah Valdez finished with a goal and assist in two games and senior Lindsey Prokop scored in both games against the Thunderbirds and Trailblazers.
- HOME SUCCESS: The Lopes return to the friendly confines of GCU Stadium where they hold a 6-2 record this season. Those six wins have surpassed the home win total from 2022 when GCU finished 5-5. The Lopes will host CBU, UTRGV and Stephen F. Austin in the final home matches of the season.
- 30 EYES 50: With two goals on the last roadtrip, Gourley inches close to the 50-career goal milestone. The Las Vegas native now sits at 13 goals this year and 47 for her career. She would become the first Lope to reach the 50-goal mark in her career. This year Gourley ranks inside the top-10 nationally in goals and points.
California Baptist is unbeaten so far in WAC play with a 2-0-2 record. Last week the Lancers drew 2-2 at Utah Tech and had a 2-0 win at Southern Utah. CBU will host the WAC Tournament for the first time since joining the conference in 2018 with first round action starting Oct. 29 and the final taking place on Nov. 4. Sophomore forward Kaylee Hauck leads a balanced offensive attack with five goals while redshirt senior goalie Noa Schumacher has a conference best 0.62 goals against average this year.
