The Grand Canyon women's golf team heads to the Red Rock Invitational at OakCreek Country Club in Sedona, Arizona, on Saturday and Sunday. The invitational will have three rounds with the first of two rounds on Monday starting at 8:15 a.m.
THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- SHORT TRAVEL: The Lopes are back in action after having a week off, but the travel north is a short one to Sedona, Arizona.
- FIVE PLAYING: After a fifth-place finish in Hawaii, the Lopes will have four of the same players participating this weekend in senior Alexis Linam, senior Payton Fehringer, junior Constanza Guerrero and senior Siripatsorn Patchana. Their fifth Lope will be senior Madison Voisard in Sedona.
- 19 TEAMS: GCU will participate in its second 19-team tournament of the season with the other one being its own that it won.
RED ROCK INVITATIONAL
The tournament field includes host school Northern Arizona, California Baptist, Delaware, Dixie State, Idaho, Illinois State, Longwood, Montana, North Dakota State, Northern Colorado, Portland State, Southern Utah, Stephen F. Austin, Towson, Utah Valley, Weber State and Wichita State. The 54-hole tournament will take place over two days with 36 holes being played on Saturday and 18 more on Sunday. The course will be a par 72 on both days, with the yardage at 6,170.
LAST TIME OUTÂ
GCU placed fifth at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational on Tuesday at Hoakalei Country Club in Hawai'i. All five Lopes finished in the top 40 with two scoring in the top 12. Patchana tied for sixth place at Hoakalei Country Club with a two-spot improvement from Monday's 36 holes. Fehringer struggled with an 8-over-par final round, dropping six spots to 12th. Moving up three spots and matching her opening round score was sophomroeÂ
Carly Strole, who scored 4 over par in her final round and tied for 31st. Guerrero fell one spot after her final round, finishing tied for 34th after a 6-over-par final round. The final Lope was Linam
, who fell three spots after scoring 6 above par in her final round to tie her at 37th.

The Lopes take on the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic at the Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course in Maricopa, Arizona.
