The Grand Canyon men's soccer team is on the road for the first time this season to play a pair of top-25 opponents at No. 5 Washington and at No. 22 Oregon State.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW
- UNDEFEATED START: The Lopes are undefeated at 2-0 for the second season in a row. Before last season, GCU's most recent 2-0 start was in 2012.

- AFONSO SCORES, GUERRERO SAVES : Fifth-year midfielder Marco Afonso scored both Lopes' goals in a 2-1 win against CSU Bakersfield on Sunday, when freshman goalkeeper Rafael Guerrero made eight saves in his first collegiate start and allowed one goal on a penalty kick.

- TOP OF THE WAC: Through the first week of play, the Lopes lead the conference in points (8.5), goals (five), assists (seven) and saves (12). Fifth-year midfielder Justin Rasmussen leads the WAC with three assists and freshman goalkeeper Rafael Guerrero stands at the top with eight saves per game.
SCOUTING
Washington is 2-0 on the season, picking up wins over UC Davis and CSU Fullerton. The Huskies moved from the No. 9 spot to No. 5 after the first week. Junior midfielder Lucas Meek was named Pac-12 Player of the Week and earned spots on the Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News Teams of the Week. Justin Rasmussen on the preseason Hermann Trophy watch list. This is the second time the Lopes and Huskies will play in program history. The first matchup was on May 2, when the Huskies won 2-0 inthe first round of the NCAA tournament.
Oregon State kicked off its season with wins over Denver and Air Force. Tsiki Ntsabeleng and Tyrone Mondi are leading the Pac-12 with two goals each while Adrian Molina-Diaz, Soflane Djeffal and Mouhameth Thiam have one goal apiece. Ntsabeleng is tied for first in the country with three assists. The last meeting with the Beavers resulted in a 1-0 GCU win on Sept. 12, 2019.Â
