Grand Canyon leaves GCU Ballpark for just the second time this season, using its WAC bye week to play a nonconference series at Tulane. The three-game set begins on Friday in New Orleans.

All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.

THREE THINGS TO KNOW

PATIENCE AT THE PLATE: GCU has drawn 106 walks this season. That mark leads the conference and ranks 12th nationally. Seniors Channy Ortiz and Brock Burton have combined to draw 31 walks with both ranking among the nation's top 70 in the category.
TURN IT: The Lopes turn the double play frequently to rank among the nation's best. In its 21 games, GCU has turned 19 double plays, a mark that checks in at No. 5 in the country. The Lopes middle infield duo of Ortiz at shortstop and Juan Colato at second base has been in place for 19 of the team's 21 games this year.
A CHALLENGE: GCU has faced one of the nation's toughest schedules, a signature of Lopes head coach Andy Stankiewicz's program. Beginning with three straight weekends of Power Five competition, GCU's schedule is the nation's 39th toughest and continues with another nonconference challenge this weekend.

SCOUTING

Tulane also has faced a challenging schedule to open the year, with three-game series against Mississippi State, Louisiana-Lafayette and Louisiana Tech in its rearview mirror. While struggling to a 2-7 mark against those programs, the Green Wave have gone 7-3 otherwise to near the .500 mark.

Sophomore infielder Collin Burns leads Tulane's offense and ranks in the nation's top 10 with nine doubles on the season.

WHAT'S NEXT

Another road trip ensues with WAC play resuming in Orem, Utah, against Utah Valley. The four-game series begins on Thursday with a Friday doubleheader and a Saturday finale due to Easter.
